Welcome!
UltraTagger is a user-friendly utility used to manage the tags found in MP3 files (ID3 v1 and v2). It can also rename files using tags, decode and encode MP3s and much more. You won't be able to find another application as easy to use and powerful as UltraTagger.
Vista & Windows 7 - run as administrator
Until the next version, I recommend running UltraTagger in administrator mode when using UCA (user control access) under Windows Vista and Windows 7. To do this, right-click on the shortcut and under the "Compatibility" tab, check "Run as administrator". Otherwise you might experience errors when starting the application. The next release will fix this.
Version 2.3
Version 2.3 brings a popular request and some fixes.
- Automatically generate a playlist file name when creating a playlist (see the new tab dedicated to playlists in the options).
- Reading tags from filenames using underscores is now possible.
- Buttons now insert text at cursor's position in the options window.
- Fixed bug when reading v2 tag genre if the genre is in Winamp format (v1 genre between parentheses).
- Fixed v2 tags not being deleted when saving from freedb with the option to overwrite checked.
Version 2.2 final
Version 2.2 final contains one new feature since 2.2 beta 1.
- Automatically generate a playlist file name when creating a playlist (see the new tab dedicated to playlists in the options).
Version 2.2 beta 1
Changes:
- Browse with Ultratagger context menu on windows explorer folders (right-click a folder).
- Fixed possible error when setting explorer to full size in Windows 98 and 2000.
- Explorer now refreshes correctly when folders are modified using some 3rd party file explorers.
- Minor correction to capitalizing.
Version 2.1.1
Version 2.1.1 is just a small correction made to 2.1 to prevent a new folder scan caused by the file explorer when the file structure of a disk is modified (and a folder is already being scanned).
